Injuries
I had a left hip injury that materialised whilst running in June/July 2020. It was quite intense pain in my hip/joint area that didn't ease with rest and led to sharp shooting sciatica from my lower back, through my left hip and down my left leg - getting out of bed was difficult and walking became problematic at times. I had chiropractor treatment from Sept 2020 through to October 2022. This eventually got me to a position where I could consistently exercise and run again. The chiropractor thought it was bursitis along with irritation/inflammation of my piriformis. I was generally self managing with intermittent recurrences which I managed through rest or lower impact alternative exercise. I had a left Achilles issued in May 2024 - a slight ping feeling when running. I tried running but it was not comfortable so reverted to non-load exercise (dumbells, some exercise biking). I then had a back/hip issue in early December 2023 which happened innocuously whilst playing with the children - a ping in my lower back led to continual pain and discomfort that I could not eradicate. The pain extended from my lower back, down the outside of my left leg through into the outside and base of my left foot - sciatic again in nature. I then had weekly physiotherapy sessions from January 2024 to September 2024 with various stretching regimes that I undertook on a daily basis. This progressively got me back to exercising more consistently, and running, as you will see from my exercise records noted below. The residual effects of this injury spell are that the outside of my left leg, around calf down, has slightly reduced sensitivity (numbness) and the outside edge of my left foot has reduced sensitivity (numbness) - both are sensations that are persistent at all times in the day. They can flare/tingle a bit after longer runs but calm back down to their normal numbness state after. The physiotherapist advised these may progressively recorded over a longer period or could be like that forever as permanent nerve damage. My left hip area can also sometimes feel achey after longer runs.

📊 Training Background
Weekly Commitments
I typically exercise 4-5 times per week - 2 runs and 2-3 HIIT routines at home. I plan to flex this to suit marathon prep - eg. 3 runs per week and 2 HIIT or mobility sessions
Holidays
On holiday WC 25th August and WC 15th Sept but can accommodate exercise
Recent Training
I made a start at training on 2nd August through an AI plan I developed
